Genesis 11:18
“And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:”
KJV
Read in Genesis 11Meaning
Peleg fathers Reu at age thirty, maintaining the regular generational progression of Genesis 11.
Read carefully
This verse gives a genealogical age and relationship; it does not independently explain every event associated with Peleg elsewhere in Genesis.
Reflection
The narrative moves quietly from one generation to the next as the line approaches Abram.
