Genesis 11:24
“And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:”
KJV
Read in Genesis 11Meaning
At age twenty-nine, the older Nahor fathers Terah, bringing the genealogy to Abram's father's generation.
Read carefully
The repeated name Nahor can create confusion; here it refers to Terah's father, not Terah's son named later in the chapter.
Reflection
The genealogy is now close to the family whose choices and calling will dominate the next chapters of Genesis.
