Genesis 17:2
“And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.”
KJV
Read in Genesis 17Meaning
God promises to establish his covenant with Abram and to multiply his descendants greatly.
Read carefully
The multiplication promise concerns the patriarchal covenant narrative and is not a universal guarantee of fertility, wealth, or numerical success.
Reflection
The verse emphasizes divine initiative and faithfulness while inviting attention to how the promise develops through the rest of the chapter.
