Genesis 32:3
“And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the country of Edom.”
KJV
Read in Genesis 32Meaning
Jacob sends representatives toward Esau in Seir, beginning a deliberate attempt to manage the coming encounter.
Read carefully
The geographic notice identifies Esau's sphere in the narrative and should not be forced into modern territorial claims without separate evidence.
Reflection
Jacob's return requires him to face a relationship he previously escaped, and the first step is direct communication.
