Genesis 5:23
“And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:”
KJV
Read in Genesis 5Meaning
Enoch's years total 365, considerably fewer than the lifespans listed for the surrounding generations.
Read carefully
The text does not explain the number symbolically, so solar-calendar or numerological interpretations should be presented as proposals rather than certainties.
Reflection
The significance of Enoch's life in Genesis is not measured by length alone; the next verse centers his walk with God and unusual departure.
