Genesis 5:7
“And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:”
KJV
Read in Genesis 5Meaning
Seth's life continues for 807 years after Enosh and includes other sons and daughters beyond the named heir.
Read carefully
As elsewhere in the chapter, the genealogy is selective rather than exhaustive; unnamed children are explicitly acknowledged.
Reflection
The named line sits within a larger human family, reminding the reader that genealogical focus is not the same as total family history.
