Genesis 9:19
“These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.”
KJV
Read in Genesis 9Meaning
Genesis presents Noah's three sons as the family lines from which the post-flood earth becomes populated.
Read carefully
The verse is a theological-genealogical statement within Genesis and should not be forced into modern racial classification schemes.
Reflection
The narrative emphasizes shared ancestry before later distinctions, undercutting attempts to turn the chapter into a hierarchy of human worth.
