The Lord Will

Psalm 110:1

β€œThe Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”

KJV

Read in Psalm 110

Meaning

The verse uses royal enthronement language. Later Jewish and especially Christian interpretation gave it major messianic significance, but the immediate poetic scene is not a warrant for modern domination.

The king at God's right hand

The psalm opens with divine authorization and rule extending from Zion.

Read carefully

It does not grant contemporary leaders immunity from moral, legal, or political accountability.

Reflection

Ask whether authority is accountable rather than merely asserted.
