Psalm 136:12
“With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
KJV
Read in Psalm 136Meaning
Traditional Exodus imagery attributes Israel’s release to God’s power rather than its own strength.
Read carefully
The verse attributes the Exodus to God; it does not license human abuse or coercion.
Reflection
Distinguish divine power from human domination performed in God’s name.
