Psalm 2:7
“I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.”
KJV
Read in Psalm 2Meaning
The father-son language belongs to the Davidic covenant and royal installation. Acts 13:33 and Hebrews 1:5 apply the decree to Jesus as the promised and unique Son; they do not imply that he began to exist on that day.
Psalm 2:7–9
Records the king’s decree of royal sonship, worldwide inheritance, and decisive authority in judgment.
Read carefully
The verse uses royal sonship language; New Testament use affirms Jesus’ kingship and unique sonship, not the creation of the eternal Son.
Reflection
Receive Christ’s authority as God-given rather than dependent on public approval or personal preference.
