Psalm 72:3
“The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.”
KJV
Read in Psalm 72Meaning
Within “Justice for the king and the poor,” verse 3 pictures peace spreading through the land as the fruit of righteousness rather than imposed silence; this detail advances the unit's argument and should not be detached from the whole psalm.
Read carefully
Read Psalm 72:3 inside its literary unit and the movement of Psalm 72; its imagery and claims are constrained by that context.
Reflection
Respond to the verse's specific emphasis — pictures peace spreading through the land as the fruit of righteousness rather than imposed silence — while reading it together with the surrounding lines of Psalm 72.
