Psalm 87:2
“The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.”
KJV
Read in Psalm 87Meaning
The verse expresses Zion’s special role within Israel’s worship life. It does not imply that people outside the city possess less human worth.
Read carefully
The chapter soon portrays foreign nations being counted as belonging to Zion.
Reflection
Treat calling as responsibility and gratitude, not superiority.
