Psalm 88:14
“Lord, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?”
KJV
Read in Psalm 88Meaning
The verse voices perceived divine absence directly. Scripture preserves the question rather than rebuking the sufferer for asking it, showing that honest lament can include the experience of God’s hiddenness.
Read carefully
Psalm 88 includes that question within faithful prayer.
Reflection
Bring the question to God without pretending certainty you do not have.
