Psalm 91:8
“Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.”
KJV
Read in Psalm 91Meaning
Within “Protection from surrounding dangers,” verse 8 says the worshiper will witness the consequences of wickedness rather than join in it; this detail advances the unit's argument and should not be detached from the whole psalm.
Read carefully
Read Psalm 91:8 inside its literary unit and the movement of Psalm 91; its imagery and claims are constrained by that context.
Reflection
Respond to the verse's specific emphasis — says the worshiper will witness the consequences of wickedness rather than join in it — while reading it together with the surrounding lines of Psalm 91.
