Psalm 99:2
“The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.”
KJV
Read in Psalm 99Meaning
Zion is the psalm's sacred geographic center, yet God's exaltation is explicitly above all peoples. The verse magnifies divine kingship rather than granting modern territorial or ethnic supremacy.
Read carefully
The verse praises God's greatness in Zion and above all peoples; it is not a modern geopolitical charter.
Reflection
Honor the biblical setting without turning worship language into a modern claim of ethnic or territorial superiority.
