Pray to resist adultery

Father, You know my heart before I speak. You know the attraction, the longing, the loneliness, and the thoughts I am tempted to keep feeding. I do not want desire to become disobedience. Give me the strength to honor You and to honor every marriage covenant involved.

Your Word tells me to flee sexual immorality, not to test how close I can stand to it. Give me courage to create the distance I need, to change habits, conversations, places, and private situations that make temptation stronger. Help me refuse secrecy, fantasy, and the small compromises that prepare the way for a larger fall.

Guard my eyes and my imagination. Teach me to recognize the difference between noticing beauty and deliberately cultivating desire. When affection is intense, help me love the other person without trying to possess what is not mine. Let love seek their good, including the good of their marriage and their faithfulness to You.

When I feel weak, remind me that temptation is not the same as surrender. Provide a way of escape and give me the humility to take it. Replace restless desire with peace, impatience with self-control, and confusion with wisdom.

Keep my heart clean, my actions honest, and my boundaries clear. Let my choices today protect what I would regret destroying tomorrow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
