Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene was a disciple of Jesus from whom the Gospels say seven demons had gone out. She travelled with Jesus and other women who supported the ministry, remained present at the crucifixion and burial, and came to the tomb after the Sabbath. In John's Gospel she encounters the risen Jesus and carries the news to the disciples. She must not be conflated with Mary the mother of Jesus or with unnamed women in other Gospel episodes.
