Egypt
Egypt is one of the Bible's most important neighboring lands. Genesis connects it with Abraham and Joseph; Exodus makes it the setting of Israel's slavery, deliverance, and confrontation with Pharaoh. The New Testament infancy narrative also presents Egypt as a place of refuge for Jesus' family.
Biblical and historical context
