Read in Esther 10Meaning
Esther 10:2 points beyond the narrative to the empire's official record. Earlier in the book, royal chronicles unexpectedly brought Mordecai's forgotten loyalty back to the king's attention; here the closing notice says that Mordecai's later greatness also belongs to public memory. The verse gives his rise an institutional, not merely private, dimension.
