Genesis 3:10
βAnd he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.β
KJV
Read in Genesis 3Meaning
The man identifies fear as the immediate reason for hiding. The relationship with God is now experienced through vulnerability and threat rather than simple openness.
Read carefully
His statement is true but incomplete: it explains the hiding without acknowledging the act that changed his experience. Partial truth can still function as avoidance.
Reflection
Fear may describe what we feel without yet naming what we have done. Honest confession requires moving from symptoms of rupture toward its moral cause.
