Some Christian interpretations see sacrifice prefigured in the skins, but Genesis 3:21 does not state that an animal sacrifice occurred or assign atoning meaning to the garments.
Reflection
Divine judgment and divine care are not presented as opposites here. The humans face real consequences while still receiving provision for life beyond Eden.
