Genesis 5:15
“And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:”
KJV
Read in Genesis 5Meaning
At 65 years Mahalalel fathers Jared, continuing the named ancestral sequence toward Enoch and Noah.
Read carefully
The text gives only the detail necessary for the genealogy and should not be expanded into an imagined biography without evidence.
Reflection
The quiet succession of names prepares for later figures whose stories receive greater narrative attention.
