Genesis 7:10
“And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.”
KJV
Read in Genesis 7Meaning
The seven-day period announced earlier ends, and the floodwaters begin to come upon the earth.
Read carefully
This seven-day interval is distinct from the forty days of rain and the later 150 days during which the waters prevail.
Reflection
The narrative's countdown closes: the time for preparation gives way to the event that had been announced.
