Genesis 9:15
“And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.”
KJV
Read in Genesis 9Meaning
God links the covenant sign with his commitment not to repeat the flood judgment against all flesh.
Read carefully
As elsewhere in Genesis, divine remembering describes faithful action on a promise, not a period in which God had literally forgotten it.
Reflection
The security of the promise rests on God's faithfulness rather than on humanity's ability to keep the covenant visible or memorable.
