Psalm 90:10
“The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.”
KJV
Read in Psalm 90Meaning
Within “Sin, wrath, and accountability,” verse 10 observes that even a long human life is marked by toil and trouble and passes quickly; this detail advances the unit's argument and should not be detached from the whole psalm.
Read carefully
Read Psalm 90:10 inside its literary unit and the movement of Psalm 90; its imagery and claims are constrained by that context.
Reflection
Respond to the verse's specific emphasis — observes that even a long human life is marked by toil and trouble and passes quickly — while reading it together with the surrounding lines of Psalm 90.
