Psalm 90:9
“For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.”
KJV
Read in Psalm 90Meaning
Within “Sin, wrath, and accountability,” verse 9 describes days passing under judgment and years ending like a sigh, intensifying the lament over life's brevity; this detail advances the unit's argument and should not be detached from the whole psalm.
Read carefully
Read Psalm 90:9 inside its literary unit and the movement of Psalm 90; its imagery and claims are constrained by that context.
Reflection
Respond to the verse's specific emphasis — describes days passing under judgment and years ending like a sigh, intensifying the lament over life's brevity — while reading it together with the surrounding lines of Psalm 90.
